There is a tactic called “Perfecting the question” used very little, or even considered, in debates.

There is an old saying: “You cannot give a correct answer to a wrong question.”  It is similar to the tactic of giving someone a false choice, purposely leaving out another alternative that is not supported by the questioner.

Editorial #322 Why do We Need New Laws?

Politicians and bureaucrats seem to have the impression their function is to make new laws to fix things.  If the Ten Commandments were used as the moral compass for justice, no other laws would be needed.

Another overlooked point is; making laws is easy, the enforcement of those laws is the problem.  Making more laws to fix failures in existing laws only exacerbates the lack of enforcement of laws already on the books.
