Editorial #303 New Qualifications for President
“No skills necessary” is the newest qualification for any position in politics. It has evolved to the point where if your name is not in the obituaries, you qualify. To run for president, it is only one more hurdle than is needed to vote.
Today’s political correctness is so extreme, it is almost gauche to use words on a resume as a picture is more than adequate to determine qualifications. It is now possible to elect someone president lacking any accomplishments or skills, never being a part of a free market economy or have a career based on skills or leadership. The current president and vice president have never participated in the private workforce benefiting only from connections in power, doing only what they are told.
Political consultants have a standing joke. They brag they can put “lipstick on a pig”, never let the candidate speak, making the candidate a complete fabrication. With slick campaign ads and enough money they can drag anyone through a campaign and win. Our last election is proof.
Election verification and integrity is monitored by mid-level politicians in each state, often elected with the same “lipstick on a pig” approach. Voters overlook any apparent corruption or lack of substance because those positions are viewed as innocuous, lacking any real influence. They are, in fact, “Trojan Horses” who can be a major factor in undermining election integrity and certification. A classic example of “the fox watching the hen house”.
This is additional proof that elected politicians no longer run the country. A small handful of media moguls found it easier and more profitable to buy the media machinery, than spend it on campaigns. They can, both, influence public opinion as well as “grease the skids” for candidates they pick who will allow themselves to have “lipstick” applied to get elected.
The Golden Rule, the Ten Commandments and living by our core values is the only way to fight against these “lipstick on a pig” elections. This too will pass, as fear, complaining and apathy are not traits a government of, by and for the people, can tolerate.
Right will prevail as they cannot fool all the people all the time. Our obligation is to fight and expose it, without yielding to political correctness. These “affirmative action” election are self-correcting, as no one follows any politician that have been shown to be consistently wrong or incompetent. All we can do is pray they do not take us beyond the point of no return before we can stop them.
